I am a sushi lover. My ability to consume large amounts of raw fish has increased over the years. I just left a sushi restaurant where I had a modest ten pieces of sushi. The euphoric reaction was far greater than I have ever experienced. I always get the coveted "sushi high," but this time it happened as soon as I dropped a piece of fish into my mouth before I even began to chew. I have never had such a dramatic reaction as I did today, and it is lasting for hours! This is one high to which I find no down side.

I can totally relate to the "Sushi High" comment
I often get that feeling...that Sushi High...when I consume/enjoy some quality sushi along with quality Saki too!
It is such a happy feeling :) -

Sun, June 1, 2008 - 8:45 PMI can also relate! Though I'm sometimes tempted to say its a wasabi high and not the sushi. But more likely, its a combination of the two. Either way - I like it and I'm gonna keep doing it! Woohoo! -

Re: SUSHI HIGH
Thu, January 15, 2009 - 4:00 AMi get sushi high at the better joints where the fish is fresh of course
and yeah I think it's a synergy if you will, of the capsaicin in the wasabi and the fatty acids in the fish
it's quite something, sometimes, that 'sushaphoria'

Re: SUSHI HIGH
Sat, January 17, 2009 - 1:41 PMOne of hte reasons I love sushi is this.... and it tastes sooo good...
always seems to be more prominant with the raw, real fish sushi, as opposed to the california rolls... sooo good. i try to get this sushi high before i go to reherasal, always makes an awesome rehearsal better and an awful rehearsal bearable.
